APD RESPONDS TO VEHICLE BREAK-INS IN THE UNIVERSITY AREA

The UHA was featured in a recent story about vehicle break-ins on KOAT TV, so we wanted to provide some additional information. The UHA board takes crime issues in the neighborhood very seriously, and endeavors to work with APD as much as possible to ensure that police respond appropriately to any crime issues in the neighborhood, and keep the UHA a safe and pleasant place for all of us.

FEDERAL STIMULUS DOLLARS MOVE LEAD & COAL RE-DESIGN ONTO THE FAST TRACK

Mayor Chavez announced on August 13 and the City Council approved on August 17 an agreement with the Richardson administration and State Department of Transportation to use $25 million of federal stimulus funds, and an additional $7 million of city funds, for Lead Coal redesign. $4 million of the city funds must be approved by voters as part of the bond issue on the October 6 ballot.
