A number of Water Utility Authority customers have received letters from a company called “Homeserve” in which they were asked to send payment to a PO Box in Santa Fe for supplemental insurance coverage of their in-ground water lines. A copy of the letter is attached.
The Water Authority is in no way associated with the Homeserve company and has recommended that anyone with doubts about their level of insurance coverage contact their own insurance company before purchasing supplemental insurance from anyone.
Because of the suspicious nature of the Homeserve letter, it has been reported to the Consumer Protection Division of the Attorney General’s Office as a likely scam. Their number is 800-678-1508.
